Law firms looking for GEO help can compare ItGrows (our product), Rankings.io, Grow Law, Legal Torch, Forward Lawyer Marketing, PaperStreet and, in England and Wales, Intellistart, each of which sells work to get a firm named when people ask ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Perplexity which lawyer to hire. The best one for your firm is the one that shows you in writing which hiring questions it will track, how it counts the answers that name you, and how its pages stay inside your bar's advertising rules.

*We publish this list, and ItGrows is our own product. Every other entry says only what that agency's own website said when we checked it on 30 October 2026, and the order after ours is not a ranking. Prices change, so confirm them before you sign.*

## Which GEO agencies work with law firms?

## What does each agency offer?

### ItGrows (our product)

We do the work on the firm's own website so that ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity can find and cite it. Every two weeks we put the firm's client questions to those four assistants and count the answers that name the firm and the sites they cite.

The plan costs $499 a month, month to month, plus a one-time $499 setup. The setup is free with $1,497 for 3 months upfront or $4,788 for a year ($399 a month), as shown on [our pricing](https://www.itgrows.ai/#geo-pricing). Every paid plan carries one guarantee: "In 90 days, AI assistants will name you more often than on launch day — or we work for free." Conditions apply.

We are not a law-firm-only agency, and our named clients are outside law. As they reported their results in October 2026, FreightSizer, a B2B SaaS for freight dimensioning, got 2 new B2B customers in one month, both from ChatGPT, and MagiScan, an iOS 3D-scanning app, gets hundreds of installs a month from ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini.

### Rankings.io

[Rankings.io](https://rankings.io/services/ai-seo/) says it is built only for law firms and aims to make a firm the one AI recommends when someone asks ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Perplexity for a lawyer, with Google's AI Overviews, Copilot and Grok covered too. The service includes an AI visibility analysis, content structured for AI answers and edited against bar advertising rules, firm identity work (verified profiles, disambiguation, knowledge panels), and tracking of how often and how accurately AI engines name the firm, with misinformation corrected.

Reporting is monthly and tied to inquiries and signed cases. It works month to month and starts with a complimentary growth audit. Its published results describe clients by type, such as a personal injury firm, rather than by name.

### Grow Law

[Grow Law](https://growlaw.co/generative-engine-optimization) says it has worked exclusively with law firms since 2008, small firms and solo lawyers included. It publishes its measurement method: a fixed set of 10 practice-area prompts built around the firm's services, city and state, rerun every month across ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Gemini and Perplexity, 4 to 6 scans per platform per month, reported per platform.

It records whether the firm is mentioned, which competitors appear in the same answers and the source URLs cited. Its named GEO case study is the Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Firm, reported at +606% AI-driven sessions, 2024 against 2025.

### Legal Torch

[Legal Torch](https://legaltorch.ai/) calls its work "compliance-first GEO, built for law firms", says it works with law firms only, and says every output is screened against ABA Model Rule 7.1 and the firm's state bar advertising rules under a written review procedure. It tracks ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Gemini and Claude separately, with a monthly manual cross-check.

Its FAQ gives the typical entry point as an AI Visibility Audit at $3,000 to $5,000 over 10 business days, with retainer pricing confirmed afterwards; the initial term is 90 days, then month to month with 30-day notice. It describes itself as a founding-cohort agency: the client it names is H&H Law in Santa Ana, California, in a testimonial, and its engagement scenarios are labelled illustrative.

### Forward Lawyer Marketing

[Forward Lawyer Marketing](https://fwd-lawyermarketing.com/services/ai-optimization-for-law-firms/) sells AI Optimization for Law Firms and names ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Claude. It says its team tracks how often a firm appears or is cited in AI-generated responses with analytics tools built for LLM visibility, watches how updates to ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity affect exposure, and gives clients 24/7/365 access to campaign reports. Its [pricing page](https://fwd-lawyermarketing.com/pricing/) lists three SEO plans starting at $1,995, $3,295 and $4,795 a month, each including "Improve AI Search Visibility" and content optimized for AI searches.

### PaperStreet

[PaperStreet](https://www.paperstreet.com/internet-marketing/ai-marketing/) designs law firm websites and sells AI marketing and AI SEO, saying it positions a firm to be the cited answer in AI Overviews and ChatGPT, with Gemini, Claude and Perplexity also named. Its site sorts its website work by practice area and by firm size, from solos to AmLaw firms, and the page reads "Keeping 2,000+ Clients Happy Since 2001". It offers an AI search audit, but the AI page does not list a price or describe how results are measured, so ask for both.

### Intellistart

[Intellistart](https://intellistart.co.uk/geo-aeo-services-for-law-firms/) describes itself as a specialist law firm marketing agency for firms across England and Wales, with services tailored exclusively to the legal sector. It sells GEO and AEO combined with SEO and paid search, names Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity, and says it monitors AI visibility alongside Google keyword rankings. Pricing "starts from £750 +VAT / month for full optimisation, as part of our SEO packages", on a monthly rolling basis. Its testimonials name more than a dozen solicitors' firms, mostly for websites, paid search and SEO rather than GEO.

## How should a law firm judge a GEO agency?

**Legal clients it can name.** Ask for firms you can call, ideally in your practice area. Some agencies above name law firms; others describe clients by type or label their scenarios as illustrative. Know which of the two you are buying.

**How it counts AI mentions.** The questions that matter to a partner are hiring questions. In our 23 September 2026 test of 20 German business questions, firms were named only on 'who should I hire / how to choose' questions, and two runs of the same question named two different sets of firms. So the tracked questions should be "who should I hire for X in Y" questions for your practice areas and cities, re-asked on a schedule and reported per assistant. Our guide to [measuring AI visibility over time](https://www.itgrows.ai/business/blog/how-to-measure-ai-visibility) explains how to compare one measurement with the next.

**Practice-area pages on your own site.** [Rankings.io's FAQ](https://rankings.io/services/ai-seo/) lists what it says assistants need to confirm a firm: specific practice-area content, schema markup, verified profiles and credentials, and reviews that name case types and locations. In practice, that means one page per practice area and city, saying who it is for and how a matter runs, so an assistant answering "which employment lawyer in Denver" has a page of yours to cite. Our article on [how law firms appear in AI assistant answers](https://www.itgrows.ai/business/blog/how-law-firms-appear-in-ai-answers) covers what to publish.

**Respect for advertising rules.** Legal Torch and Rankings.io both say they check content against bar advertising rules. Ask any agency to show you that step, because the rules below apply to every page written for you.

## What do lawyer-advertising rules mean for GEO content?

Each state has its own version of the rules; California's shows what to look for. [California's Rule 7.1](https://www.calbar.ca.gov/sites/default/files/portals/0/documents/rules/Rules-of-Professional-Conduct-7.pdf) bars a false or misleading communication about a lawyer or the lawyer's services. Its comments say the rule covers communications of any type, that an express guarantee of the result of a representation is misleading, and that testimonials and unsubstantiated comparisons with other lawyers can mislead.

Rule 7.4 in the same chapter lets a lawyer claim to be a certified specialist only when certified by the Board of Legal Specialization or another entity the State Bar accredits, with the certifying organization named. Rule 7.2 lets a lawyer pay vendors such as website designers, with a duty under Rule 5.3 to supervise non-lawyers who prepare marketing materials, and requires each advertisement to include the name and address of at least one lawyer or law firm responsible for its content.

For GEO work, that means:

- No "best lawyer in the city" or "top-rated" claims the firm cannot back up.
- No "certified specialist" wording unless the certification exists and the certifier is named.
- No FAQ answers that promise an outcome.
- The name and address of a lawyer or the firm responsible for the content on every page.
- Sign-off by a lawyer at the firm on every page before it goes live, whoever wrote it.

## What should you ask before signing?

Our guide on [how to choose a GEO agency](https://www.itgrows.ai/business/blog/geo-agency-how-to-choose) has a longer list. For a law firm, these matter most:

1. Which law firms can you name, and may we speak to one?
2. Which questions will you track, and are they hiring questions for our practice areas and cities?
3. Which assistants do you ask, how often, and do you report each one separately?
4. What will you publish on our website, and who checks it against our state's advertising rules before it goes live?
5. What does it cost, what is the minimum term, and what happens if the numbers do not move?
6. Who owns the content and the reports if we leave?

## Where should a law firm start?

Start with your own baseline, before any agency call. Our [free check](https://www.itgrows.ai/) generates five client questions from your homepage and shows ChatGPT's and Perplexity's answers: two right away, all five once you create an account. The detailed report, 20 buyer questions each put once to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity, is free once you create an account; here is [a real one](https://www.itgrows.ai/business/sample-report). It shows who is named instead of you and which sites the assistants cite, and you can take those answers to every agency on this list.

## Frequently Asked Questions

**Is there a GEO agency that works only with law firms?**

Yes. [Rankings.io](https://rankings.io/services/ai-seo/) says it is built only for law firms, [Grow Law](https://growlaw.co/generative-engine-optimization) says it has worked exclusively with law firms since 2008, [Legal Torch](https://legaltorch.ai/) says it works with law firms only, and [Intellistart](https://intellistart.co.uk/geo-aeo-services-for-law-firms/) says its services are tailored exclusively to the legal sector. Forward Lawyer Marketing and PaperStreet also sell this work to law firms.

**How much does GEO for a law firm cost?**

On 30 October 2026, ItGrows charged $499 a month plus a one-time $499 setup, free with $1,497 for 3 months or $4,788 for a year; [Intellistart](https://intellistart.co.uk/geo-aeo-services-for-law-firms/) started from £750 + VAT a month within its SEO packages; and [Forward Lawyer Marketing's SEO plans](https://fwd-lawyermarketing.com/pricing/) started at $1,995 a month with AI search visibility included. [Legal Torch](https://legaltorch.ai/) quoted $3,000 to $5,000 for an audit before a retainer, while [Rankings.io](https://rankings.io/services/ai-seo/), [Grow Law](https://growlaw.co/generative-engine-optimization) and [PaperStreet](https://www.paperstreet.com/internet-marketing/ai-marketing/) showed no price on the pages we checked.

**Do lawyer-advertising rules apply to pages written for AI assistants?**

Yes. [California's Rule 7.1](https://www.calbar.ca.gov/sites/default/files/portals/0/documents/rules/Rules-of-Professional-Conduct-7.pdf), for example, covers communications of any type about a lawyer or the lawyer's services, so a practice-area page or FAQ written to be cited is covered like any other advertising. Check your own state's version and have a lawyer at the firm approve each page.

**Should a law firm hire an agency or use a GEO tracking tool?**

A tracking tool shows where you stand; an agency also does the work on your site. If someone in-house can write and publish practice-area pages, a tool may be enough, and our article on [choosing between a GEO agency and a GEO tool](https://www.itgrows.ai/business/blog/geo-agency-or-geo-tool) sets out the trade-offs.
